• 847th out of 892 – Sprint race Windsor triathlon 2000

  • Representing for Great Britain at world long distance duathlon championships - Austria 2002 (I came nowhere)

  • Representing South Africa in both Madeira and Honolulu ITU standard distance world championships (Best place 34th in 30-34 Age group)

  • 4 times Ironman finisher (Best result Ironman Western Australia 2006 - 09hr 29min (58min Swim, 4hr45min Bike, 3hr39 run)

  • Feeling fantastic and almost indestructible during Ironman South Africa 2005

  • Feeling absolutely terrible and destroyed during the marathon in Ironman Hawaii 2005 – I hope I never have to hurt like that again.

I needed something to give me the motivation to get fit, the many beers I drunk in the London pubs took their toll on a mid 20’s deskbound ass. The Windsor triathlon looked like a good goal for the summer. It proved to be one of the hardest triathlons I have ever done. I exited the water after 750metres in 7th place “This is damn easy” ……. “These poms cant swim” I thought. But alas….I was to be overtaken by more than 300 people on the bike course (29k) and another 400 on the Run (5k). I had absolutely no idea what I was doing but had an awesome feeling when I crossed the finish line. I wanted more of that feeling. I swore that I would not get overtaken on a bicycle by that many people again. As they say “The rest is history”.

Become a student of the sport, learn what it takes to do the best you can given the resources you have. These resources may include financial restraints, time constraints, athletic ability or talent and the personal goals you want to achieve. Be humble, learn from others, stay motivated, thank those who help you and most of all make sure it remains a sport. It’s supposed to be FUN!!!!

I manage an investment business (Hedge Fund) on behalf of private clients (Friends and Family). I enjoy travelling as my flexible work situation allows for this. My wife and daughters are the highest on the priority ladder and all keep me pretty busy on the weekends. I enjoy a trip to the snow to get some snowboarding in and every now and then like to hit a golf ball in anger. I have a strange addiction to high tech gear and to have an interest in a passion business in a sport I love just really floats my boat.

  • To help the continual growth of Troisport into a company that affords new and existing multisport athletes the opportunities to enjoy the sport as much as I have, through events, equipment, advice, travel and friendship.

  • I have a number of athletic goals – The achievable and the dreams. The achievable goals are to break 8 hours for an ironman, to Run a sub 2:05 marathon, to win a mountain top finish in the Tour de France and to swim around the world. The dreams I wont divulge – they are a lot more aggressive!
