The membership cost of the Troisport Tri Club does not include any affiliation to a sporting body.
We do however offer the following options:
1. Central Gauteng Athletics
(CGA)
[REGISTER WITH CGA]
Troisport Tri Club is
an affiliated club to
Central Gauteng
Athletics (as the likes
of Rand Athletics Club,
Randburg Harriers etc).
Once you are a signed up
member of the club you
can purchase affiliation
licensing with Central
Gauteng Athletics.
Athletics South Africa
and its affiliated
provincial bodies and
running clubs offer a
huge network of races.
They range from a local
10km race to the
legendary Comrades
Marathon. The cost for
the license is R66.00
and the club vest, which
is compulsory to run in,
is R185.00. You will
receive two Nedbank
athletics numbers, once
you have done the paper
work and paid. They need
to be attached to the
front and back of your
club vest. Safety pins
will do, but sown on
looks best. The official
shorts are black. Any
style will do!
-conventional or tri
shorts.
Should you plan to do
certain races such as
Comrades and Two Oceans
you need to be member of
an affiliated running
club and have a valid
license. You cannot do
so on a temporary
license. This have added
to a strong running club
scene in the country
that have helped build
the road running culture
we have in South Africa,
It also makes sense
monetary sense to pay
the annual affiliation
fee should you do five
or more road races per
annum. Day licenses can
be purchased at
individual road races on
the day at approximately
R15.00
The best guide of what
is happening on the road
running calendar is

2. Central Gauteng Cycling (CGC)
[REGISTER WITH CGC]
Troisport Tri Club is
affiliated to Central
Gauteng Cycling
www.cgcycling.co.za
Again, you do have the
option of purchasing a
cycling license through
your Troisport
membership without
having to join a cycling
specific club (Like a
Club100 or Cycle Lab).
The only additional
costs are the actual
purchase of the cycling
license.
Purchasing Central
Gauteng Cycling
affiliation would make
sense if you do more
than 4 cycling races per
year, and/or you are
keen to be a ranked
cyclists that can obtain
a seeded entry at large
races such as the Argus
and 94.7 Cycle
Challenge.
Membership fees are:
R75.00 for primary
members; R50.00 for
secondary members and
R30.00 for development
riders. Payments must be
paid directly to your
club who in turn will
batch all affiliations
and submit one payment
to CGC.
One of the most
important benefits of
being a member of CGC is
that, for no additional
cost to the member, you
will be covered by ER 24
(under its Access
Programme) for emergency
medical assistance when
involved in any form of
emergency whilst cycling
anywhere in South
Africa.
3. Triathlon South Africa
(TSA and CGT)
[REGISTER WITH TSA]
Triathlon South Africa is
affiliated to the
International Triathlon
Union. There are seven
provinces that make up TSA.
When you become a member of
TSA, your affiliation
actually gets administered
through your home province.
The provincial body is
therefore more so your
triathlon home than the
national body. Johannesburg,
Midrand as well as the East
and West Rand regions make
up the triathlon province of
Central Gauteng.
Unlike with the national
Athletics and Cycling bodies
you don’t need to be a
member of a club to be a
member of TSA. You can
purchase this licensing
direct from this sporting
body. The cost for seniors
are R300 and Juniors R200.
The triathlon year runs
from, 01 September – 31
August each year.
