Troisport's first pre-season triathlon training camp took place from 11-14 September 2008 at the Buffelspoort resort (27km west of Hartebeestpoortdam) The aim of the camp was to kick start the programme with some physical and mental stimulation... and what a stimulant it was! We had three days of good cycling with a follow vehicle as back up. Ironically we had NO punctures. Day 1 and 3 took us through some rolling hills. Day 2 was a flat out and back on the Sun City road. We had the opportunity here to spend some quality time in the tri bars. Besides Leanna's brawl with a toll gate boom, there were very little side shows on these sessions. That happened after hours!

We had a daily running session, focusing on running off the bike and running cadence. Marc did swim stroke correction in the pool, and took us all through our paces in an open water swim in the Olifants Nek dam. He spoke about getting your wetsuit on and open water swimming skills such as navigation and swimming around buoys.

Steve lectured on a variety of Triathlon topics. From planning your season to race strategy. Lots of questione\s were generated and many answered. In between all of this, Linda Stanton and Karen Bradford were at hand to assist with a deep tissue sports massage.

Breakfast and dinners were good and wholesome. On Saturday night we had a braai where we socialised and laughed. The traveling circus from East London was on the camp with us. Gomesh, Snakeman and the Sandsnake never shut up! Very little can be repeated here, so we will just leave it at that...
