THE REFEREES |
|
The referees must see that
races that are held
according to the highest ITU
technical principles and
competition rules, by
sanctioning and controlling
the event. Provinces make
use of volunteer technical
officials that need to be
trained over a period of
time according to guidelines
set out by the ITU. Neil
Plumbly is arguable the best
known public face of
Triathlon refereeing in the
country and we are lucky
enough to have him residing
in our province and being on
the CGT committee as the
technical head. Neil has a
team of well trained and
experienced referees to
assist. The long and the
short of it all is the
referees are to see that the
race is conducted in a safe
and fair manner. |
